10 Mindshifts for Career Success – Part I

iStock 000010460035Small 150x150 10 Mindshifts for Career Success – Part II’ve been posting my top 10 essential mental shifts or “mindshifts” for career success on Twitter, Facebook, and other social media venues.  Getting ready to gear up for an awesome e-course product that I may put on CD.

It’s so important to understand that you can take all kinds of action like revamping your resume, studying up on the latest interview questions, and many other activities that will get you nowhere near the success you dream of in your work.  Why?  It’s because everything absolutely starts in your mind.

You’ve probably heard about Napoleon Hill’s book Think & Grow Rich (if you haven’t, I suggest you stop reading this post and go get it now.  This is a top of the line book for boosting your career and business!)

There are many other books like Hill’s that will tell you unless you think the way successful people do, you miss out on the whole lesson.  It’s like playing basketball without knowing the rules.  When you get a foul or miss the basket, do you  blame it on your coach?  Or do you realize you’ve got to know the rules for yourself?

So here are the first 5 mindshifts and I’ll share the next 5 in part two:

  1. I am an employee >> I am self-employed.
  2. I hate my job >> I welcome every experience as a lesson for preparation at the next level.
  3. I work to pay the bills >>I have unique gifts to offer the world through my work.
  4. I hate networking >> I create mutual connections with a genuine interest in others’ well-being.
  5. If I can just (have/do/be) XXX, I can do this >> All I need to be successful is already within me.

Your homework for the week is to imagine how you will see life differently when you change your mind to embrace these concepts about work.

To your career success, Tanya
